Santwana Goswami was born on 6th July 1939 at Dacca, now in
Bangla Desh. He graduated from Government Art College, Kolkata in 1962 and joined as an Artist
with Zoological Survey of India (ZSI). He worked at various locations in India such as Jodhpur,
Shillong, Port Blair and Chennai.He retired from ZSI as Chief Artist.
He held One man Shows in Kolkata and Chennai from time to time.
His works are exhibited in Lalit Kala Academy, New Delhi.

Won:-
* Certificate of merit at The Latham Foundation International Roster Contest, 1961.
* First Prize in Graphic Art, in 5th West Bengal Youth Festival, 1962, in honour of VIII th World
Youth Festival.
* National Award in 1987 for his entry tittled 'Marriage Evening' in the 59th All India Art
Exhibitiions.
