K L Indumathi

Indumathi was born on 11th July 1953. She spent her child hood in Chennai and later grew up in Vijaywada in Andhra Pradesh, where her culturally rich parents came to live. Presently she lives in Kolkata with her Husband and two sons who are also highly talented. She teaches History and Science in Andhra Association School, Kolkata. Art and Sculpture are her passion. She is entirely self  taught. She started making Idols of Lord Ganapaty in her childhood under the guidance of her father. Chalk Sculpture came naturally to her. Her home is vertually a treasure house  of beautiful Chalk Carvings. However she is equally conversant with Plaster of paris, wax, paper-mache, and clay. She also does Tanjore Paintings in traditional South Indian Style.
