Amarnath Mukherjee completed his schooling from 'Chetla Boys High School', Kolkata in 1960. Then he joined Jadavpur University, College of Science and College of Engineering & Technology and graduated in Electrical Engineering in 1966.
He started his professional career in AEI ( India ) Pvt.Ltd. Then he joined the Fertilizer Corporation of India at Sindriand worked at Nangal, Bombay & Durgapur till 1988.Next He joined and worked with Coal India Ltd at Dankuni(West Bengal) till 1993.Went on to serve in Krebs & Cie for one year and then joined DCM group at Kota (Rajastan) & Bharuch (Gujarat). He worked there till his retirement in April 2005.Now he is engaged in a Consultancy firm in Kolkata. His family life started in 1970. He is blessed with a daughter and a son, who are now well established and settled. After retirement he has returned to his ancestral home in Kolkata.
His poetry is his medium of expressionof his feelings as a matured person who has already seen a great deal in life.
