Pencil sketch, portrait, cartoon pictures – they are her favorite subjects. She has inherited this talent, this special gift
naturally from her grandma, uncles and aunties. She is now being trained under the guidance of Mr. Sunil Kumar Das a
renowned artist.
One of her paintings, “Goddess of Justice” was selected by the West Bengal Retired Judges Association for the front
cover page of their annual magazine since last two years. The same painting is also used by the Association as their
LOGO and used on all their mementos.
You are viewing some of her painting/sketches created during the span of last 3 years. All the paintings here are her
original works of art and not true copies. Some of them are characters from comic strips and cartoons, which she is a
great fan of and is perhaps influenced by them to some extent. She keeps drawing them from her imagination. What
matters at this stage is her basics, which is certainly very sound. We are confident that at this rate she will find her own
style and vision due in time.

Amreeta Banerjee (Born 27th July 1994) - after passing
her ICSE 2011 is now a student of science in class XI. Since her early
childhood she was deeply attracted and interested towards drawing, painting and
dancing. Even before she learn to write ABCD, all the walls, floors even doors
of the house were filled with samples of her artwork not to mention about her
notebooks.
When she was about 3-4 years old, while her mother was trying hard to make
her sleep, one afternoon, so that her mother also could take some rest, she
would not give up and would not go to sleep. She said to her mother “Can you
draw mummy? If you knew then you could feel the pain when one wants to
draw but is not allowed to”. That artist child is now in her youth and can’t
stay without drawing. Even now you can always find samples of her talent in
all her copy books, even on her exam question papers! She will draw one
after another with ease and throw it in the dustbin without a second thought
to our grief!
