Born: 23rd Nov 1980
Debashree is currently a very busy and sought after Artist. She was born in Chandannagar, West Bengal,
and brought up in the historical city of Udaipur , Rajasthan. Its culture, colour, people, and immediate
environment shaped the mind frame of the artist.
She is a very highly qualified person with a Degree in Arts 2003 and an MA in Public Administration from ML
Sukhadia University, Udaipur, Rajasthan, India. She also has a Diploma in Multimedia (Photoshop, Flash)
from the prestigious CMC.
A very talented Artist, some of Debashree's Achievements are:
(i) Ist in Camlin Drawing Competition, 1994
(ii) 1st in Inter District Drawing Competition, 1997
(iii) 2nd in State lavel Competition,COW 2001, organized by Govt.of Rajasthan.
(iv) Participated in the Exhibition organised by Jaipur Kala Mandir
Solo Exhibitions : in 2002
Areas of interest: Western Style compositions, Sketches, Murals. She firmly feels that art, like poetry, must
flow from within. Her passion for colour and architecture takes her to the roots of Rajasthan. She also loves
to paint Hindu mythological figures, especially Lord “Ganesha & Krishna”). Her works have been appreciated
and widely acclaimed in the media (State level awardee 1997, 2001, National level awardee 1991, Lalit Kala
Academy Jaipur etc). Her father in-law is a Retired Railway officer and her husband, who is a M.Sc.(geo.), B.
Ed. & doing his Phd. He is a Govt. School teacher who always inspires her.
Her Hobbies are Painting & Reading.
Her Paintings speak for themselves. As a talented and busy Artist , we find her with a very colourful and
positive approach towards life. Perhaps an effect of growing up in a very beautiful and colourful place such
as Rajasthan.
