Dipankar Bhattacharyya, 48,  had a deep fascination about mountains and its misty heights
since his childhood. Born in a middle-class family he had very little opportunity to explore the
mountain and its splendour. Except some family visits to popular hill stations like Darjeeling,
Mussourie or Nainital he had some opportunities to visit some of the deeper areas of the
Trans-Himalayan region including Zanskar range and Lingti Valley. In the process he has also
developed a passion for photography. He has managed to snap some beautiful valleys and
glacial lakes in the higher reaches of Himalayas which you will surely love.
Besides his love for the mountain, he is a lecturer in Pol Science in a Kolkata college and loves
reading journals on contemporary literature. He will be glad if these photographs delight you.
