or The Great Rally! Called by Intellectuals or Buddhijibis of Kolkata in protest against the
Second Massacre and so called Re-Capture of Nandigram by the ruling party CPIM under
Chief Minister Mr. Buddhadeb Bhattacharya.
The March started from College Square and ended at Dharmatala or Esplaned. This was perhaps the largest Non-Political rally
ever held. The voluntary turnout of Ordinary people was unheard of.
Media estimates suggest nearly 1 Lakh gathering.

them were burnt alive on Bijan Setu by the ruling
party goons in the eighties. No one has been
sentenced till date! They are sill awaiting justice.
